Private Exhibition Tour & Champagne Toast: Henry Art Gallery

Date & Time:

Friday, July 18, 2025
6:30 PM - 8:00 PM

Location:

The Henry’s John S. Behnke Director Kris Lewis invites you to a special evening celebrating Sanctuary, a moving and visually stunning exhibition by acclaimed multimedia artist Josh Faught.

Enjoy an intimate tour of the exhibition led by the artist and Senior Curator Nina Bozicnik, offering a rare behind-the-scenes look into the making and meaning of Sanctuary (2017)—a monumental tapestry originally commissioned by Western Bridge for Seattle’s Saint Mark’s Cathedral and now part of the Henry’s collection.

Drawing from Faught’s personal archives and Seattle’s queer history, Sanctuary explores how LGBTQ+ communities have created spaces of care, devotion, and belonging—raising profound questions about faith, identity, and resilience.

Following the tour, join us in the Henry Café for a celebratory champagne toast.

We hope you’ll be part of this memorable evening of art, insight, and connection.

Please note that this event is by invitation only.
