Afshan Lakha’s collection primarily reflects concerns of gender inequality and ethnic diversity, with a secondary focus on texture and bold brush strokes. However, in considering both gender and sexuality, the question is not always, or only about the identity of the artist, but also the influences resulting from various socio-economic backgrounds, diverse cultures, and attendant global concerns.
