Office of Arts & Culture Curator and Collections Supervisor, Blake Haygood, leads a tour of The First 50 Years: Highlights from the Civic Collection, 1973-2023, on view at ARTS at King Street Station. The First 50 Years: Highlights from the Civic Collection, 1973-2023 celebrates the City of Seattle’s 1% for Art Program, one of the oldest in the United States. This exhibit showcases 150 works of art from the extensive civic art collection. Seattle celebrates artists and integrates arts into our public spaces, providing opportunities for people to encounter art in parks, libraries, community centers, roadways, bridges, and other public venues, and enriching our communities.
