We are thrilled to announce Lulani Arquette and Roberto Bedoya will each receive the 2021 Berresford Prize, our annual award honoring cultural practitioners who have contributed significantly to the advancement, well-being, and care of artists in society.
Lulani and Roberto have each made a concrete impact on individual artists and the cultural landscape. They have not only created opportunities for individual artists but also urged critical thinking in our field about the importance of artists in civic engagement and their role in flourishing communities. Both place great value in establishing artistic spaces and each expands the definitions of what these spaces can be, who they are for, and how they can center justice.
