SAM Gallery
Presented by Seattle Art Museum
SAM Gallery is the Seattle Art Museum’s art sales and rental gallery, offering contemporary original works from Northwest artists since 1973. This year’s installation showcases art from some of the gallery’s most beloved Washington artists in a variety of style, discipline and scale. Featured artists include Beth Gahan, Joseph Steininger, Troy Gua, Joe Max Emminger, and more. This collection of vibrant pieces is inspired by the current exhibition at the Seattle Art Museum, Poke in the Eye which celebrates an alternative and oft-overlooked story in art history: the aesthetic practices that emerged in the West Coast in the 1960s and ‘70s as counter to the New York-centric avant-garde.
